Each control used to be part of a huge column. All of the players in one, the enemies in another, the npcs in a third. Now each "column" is made of only one control panel. That control panel changes at the whim and will of the operator....

I have a very early, ugly prototype of the future Battle Mat feature alive. [Link]This prototype draws a grid, coordinates and player locations on top of an 800x600 image. Badly. Right now you can move P1 (Player 1) icon around and make the arrow change directions. My method of doing that is MUCH less brute force than I feared, but not as eloquent as I wish. I'm not too proud to admit that I actually used two SWITCH commands. Any pre-loading is, at best, sporadic. I'm finding myself hav...

Hahahaha cool. The import feature works and doesn't break any of the page. That is to say, the "Import" functionality of Google Web Fonts can be dropped right into the style sheet area. Plus, the page is still basic but valid HTML5.I mean, I'd rather it all be well-formed HTML5 with all of the HTML tags in lowercase and such. But, it works for now.I can eventually move on to the battlemap phase. THAT is going to be a challenge. ...

Hm. I may actually have the code search for style= and delete it on sight. I'm looking into converting this site entirely into an HTML5 experience for reasons detailed in the area above. That will mean that creating new pages and posting will be very "user friendly." That also means that some of the power user features of this site's philosophical parent will be removed. One thing I have always wanted to do is incorporate battle maps. Switching over to a pure HTML5 experience will allow t...

Alright. Enter now equals line break. No need to hard code them in HTML. Allowable tags are a,b,i,u so far. Page owners can wrap their posts in DIV tags using the header/footer info. Styles can be assigned when creating a new page. That's not to say that we can't still be griefers, but please, let's not be griefers....

I'm thinking of stripping any and all HTML out of peoples' posts except for bold, underline, italics and other basic commands. Line breaks in the post will convert to <br />, and the whole thing will just get simpler. Of course, this thing is still in closed testing / fixing so I'm the only one who cares at the moment. Also, I made the login process a little more secure....
